Meeting Times

We ask that you aim to be at the Wye Adventures Ltd Centre at Symonds Yat West approximately 30 minutes before your allotted time, please TRY NOT TO ARRIVE LATE as we have only a certain amount of time at each launch site and I'm afraid if you are late we probably cannot wait as we have to move onto another meet point somewhere else on the river. If you are thinking of leaving a vehicle as a shuttle at the end (Paddocks Hotel) we suggest allowing at least 30 mins travel time to get from the Paddocks Hotel to your start point and your meeting with us. For multi-day trip meeting times please contact us to arrange.

Parking

Please park in the Pay and Display Car Park (meet point A) found just before us at River Wye Campsite and walk back along the road to the centre, the ticket machines are both cash and card.

Canoe / Kayak or Paddleboard

Something to bear in mind is that although we hire Canadian Canoes, single person Kayaks and Paddleboards for self guided trips for safety we only hire kayaks and paddleboards to people that have some previous experience, and in the case of kayaks experience of closed deck kayaks is a required (experience paddling sit on top kayaks doesn't count I'm afraid), we do not need any specific qualifications but mostly these are river journeys covering a fair distance each day so you have to be aware of what you are undertaking, kayaks and SUP's are single person craft (with limited load carrying ability) and very different to multi-person canoes. If you book single person kayak or SUP and clearly do not have any experience when we launch you then I'm afraid for your own safety your hire agreement will be terminated without refund so please be honest when booking.

To check out the difference between canoes / kayaks and SUP's please see here.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact the centre on 01600 890027 or [email protected]
